So this is my first blog ever and everyone that knows me, knows that I am not the best at articulating my words, grammar or pretty much anything in the written word - so don't judge me based on that. This is basically a source that my family, friends and whoever can see what adventures I'm up to as I travel around Europe. So here we go . . . . . .
Well it's exactly one week till Mocha and I enter the Netherlands (that is if they let us into the country) and onto our next adventure!!
Getting pretty excited and hoping that I have all my ducks in a row, been doing the best I can for the last few weeks as there is no internet at the house on the farm (crazy how dependent we are on technology). Hopefully I haven't driven my Aunt BJ crazy with my every day visits, but I must say she always has good snacks and beer in the fridge!
Hotel is booked for the first few nights when I arrive thanks to a very helpful gal in the Netherlands (since my Dutch is pretty much non-existent) and she has even invited to me to diner at her house. I can't wait to meet her and learn about her country, hopefully I get all the inside beta.
I'm sure the first few days will be a mosh posh of getting things sorted, acquiring my residents permit and basically getting my bearings while I adjust to the 9 hour time difference.
Did I also mention I bought a camper van over there? Heck ya!! Thank god they drive on the same side of the road as us Canadians, otherwise I don't think I would have taken the same route. But at least this way I can go where I want, when I want and explore outside of the major cities. Plus Mocha enjoys being my co-pilot - just ask my mom the looks she got when she sat in the front.
Looks like I will be living in the van for at least the first week while I volunteer at Bamboo and Christmas tree farm, that's right you heard me right - a Bamboo and Christmas tree farm!! Pretty excited about this opportunity to volunteer with this family at there farm, you can check it out at http://www.bamboe.nl
This way I won't be spending any extra money while I look for a paying job, plus it will keep me busy and whip me back into shape!
Well that's about as far as I have gotten, pretty much flying by the seat of my pants after that and seeing what comes my way. Who knows what the road may have in store for us, but I am excited to be on this journey and onto next adventure of my life.
So I hope and plan to write on this blog from time to time and post some photo's of the adventures we have while exploring Europe. So I hope you come and take a gander or two and enjoy what you see or hear.
Take it easy!
Thanks for the update, love the blog idea and I look forward to the next installment of a Girl and her dog!
